Cat is road-tripping. In the meantime, here’s a prescheduled post for your reading enjoyment.
The rest of the Qwerty crew is holding down the fort in California while I’m gallivanting around Big Sky country. The last time I was in Montana, it looked like this.
Thankfully it’s summer this time. My last summer trip to the state was in 2008. My grandma had passed away in 2007 and a whole bunch of extended family gathered together in a way that would honor her memory – getting sunburned and bug-bitten while risking grizzly bear encounters in the wilderness of Glacier National Park. An amazing place that I highly recommend visiting at least once in your lifetime.
Here’s grandma Dorothy when she was a spry young thing. See that twinkle in her eye? After my grandpa passed away, she was still getting marriage proposals — into her eighties. Rawr.
Anyhoo, here’s what I’m probably looking at right about now (forgive my 2008 photography skills):
More lake, a hill, trees, and some boats or whatever.
Water and such.
Water, trees, mountains. The usual.
GUESS WHAT THIS IS A PICTURE OF.
Montana is a gorgeous place and, since this is a food blog, I’ll share with you some of my favorite Montana places to grab a bite to eat…
After I get back.
TO BE CONTINUED.
She lives in the Bay Area and cites her diverse background as her biggest influence: her visual artist mom is half-Chinese, half-Greek, and from Hawai’i; her film-loving, world-music curating dad is from Montana; and she lived in both California and Montana while growing up. She loves at least a little bit about virtually everything (Pokémon Snap included) and aims to be a Jane of all trades. By day Cat is a multiple-hat-wearing media person.
She is also allergic to felines.
